Industry Overview
Cement kiln flue gas refers to the high-temperature industrial exhaust gas emitted from core equipment such as cement rotary kilns and kiln tail preheaters during the clinker calcination process. As the primary source of energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions in cement production, this flue gas is characterized by high emission volumes, high temperatures, extremely high dust concentrations, and a complex composition, making it the primary focus of air pollution control efforts at cement plants.
Governance difficulties
Challenges in Cement Kiln Flue Gas Treatment
The flue gas has a unique composition, containing high concentrations of dust, fluorides, SO₂, and sticky oil fumes. Traditional dust collection equipment is prone to filter bag clogging, and spray towers are prone to blockages. Furthermore, fluorides are highly corrosive to equipment, making treatment particularly challenging.
Operating conditions fluctuate frequently; flue gas temperature and flow rate vary significantly during kiln start-up, shutdown, and material changeovers, making it difficult to maintain stable control of denitrification and desulfurization systems. Furthermore, small and medium-sized building materials enterprises face significant retrofitting cost pressures and lack sufficient incentive to upgrade their environmental protection measures.
Unorganized emissions are difficult to control; severe dust leakage occurs during raw material crushing and screening, and organic waste gases generated by certain processes (such as asphalt fumes) are prone to causing secondary pollution, yet the available control measures are limited.
